The Computer Club has set up a local Computer Resource Center / Classroom. It is located in the Atrium Building on the Sun City Center Central Campus. That room is open weekdays and Saturdays from 12:30 -5 PM. This facility is equipped with computers using Windows XP and Vista. There are volunteer staff monitors at the center to help solve residents' questions or just to chat about computing.
Club members also teach classes on specific applications such as MS Word, Quicken; there is a class for beginners and much more. The educational schedule may be learned by visiting the classroom or by calling 633-4516.
In addition, Special Interest Groups meet monthly on such specialized subjects as MS Windows, the Internet, Genealogy, Movie Maker and Quicken.
Due to its size (nearly 2,000 members), the Computer Club is able to attract first-rate speakers for its monthly meetings in Community Hall. Be sure to set aside the first Wednesday evening each month at 7:30 for an hour's immersion into the wonderful world of home computing.
Annual membership dues are $25 per family (no initiation fee) and that includes a subscription to "The Journal", a fine monthly publication with tips and articles about computers written in language we can all understand! In fact, if you join the club after July 1, the dues for the remainder of the year are just $12.50.
